Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest (Azrou) – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Your private 4-day tour from Fes to Rabat via the Merzouga Desert begins with a morning pickup from your hotel or riad in Fes in a private air-conditioned vehicle with an experienced Amazigh driver from the desert region. Leaving Fes, you cross the Middle Atlas toward Ifrane, known as the 'Switzerland of Morocco' for its alpine architecture and clean mountain air.
Continue to the Cedar Forest near Azrou, home to wild Barbary macaques. Take a short stop to observe the monkeys and enjoy the forest scenery before driving to Midelt for a lunch break. In the afternoon, cross the spectacular Ziz Valley with its endless palm oasis, gorges and kasbahs — a panoramic stop for photos — then continue through Erfoud and Rissani to Merzouga at the edge of Erg Chebbi.
Arrive in Merzouga and settle into your hotel or riad at the dunes. Dinner is included and you have the evening free to enjoy the quiet desert atmosphere ahead of your sahara experience.
Day 2: Merzouga Desert Discovery — Khamlia, Nomads & Erg Chebbi Camel Trek
After breakfast, enjoy a full day dedicated to the Merzouga Desert. Explore the desert surroundings by 4x4, visiting oases, black desert plateaus and small communities that live around Erg Chebbi. Visit Khamlia village, famous for its Gnawa music, where descendants of sub-Saharan communities perform hypnotic rhythms and chants.
You also visit the area where nomad families live in traditional tents to learn about their way of life, crafts and how they adapt to the desert. If conditions allow, you stop at the seasonal lake of Merzouga, a haven for migratory birds after rare rains. The program remains flexible to your interests and the day's conditions.
In the late afternoon, leave the vehicle and start your camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi to watch the sunset. Arrive at your private luxury desert camp with a private tent and private bathroom. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, Berber drums around the fire and a night under the stars. Dinner and breakfast are included.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Midelt
For those who wish, wake early to watch the sunrise over the dunes — one of the most memorable moments of any Merzouga desert tour. After breakfast at the camp, ride your camel back to Merzouga and rejoin your driver.
Drive to Rissani, one of the most historic towns in southeastern Morocco and a former caravan hub. If your visit coincides with market day, explore the traditional Rissani market where locals trade dates, spices, livestock and handicrafts — an authentic window into daily life. Continue to Erfoud, known as the fossil capital, famous for its workshops of marine fossils millions of years old.
From Erfoud, travel north again through changing landscapes, from desert plains back into the Atlas mountains, arriving in Midelt by late afternoon or evening. Check into your hotel or riad in Midelt for dinner and overnight. Dinner and breakfast are included.
Day 4: Midelt – Meknes – Rabat
After breakfast in Midelt, drive west toward Meknes, one of Morocco's four imperial cities. On arrival, enjoy time to discover the medina and the monumental heritage of Moulay Ismail — the famous Bab Mansour gate, Sahrij Swani basin and the lively El Hedim Square. Walking through the historic centre reveals traditional artisans, ramparts and bustling streets.
After your visit and time for lunch, continue toward Rabat. The private transfer lets you adjust stops to your flight or train schedule and travel preferences.
Arrive in Rabat and finish the tour at your hotel or agreed drop-off point in the capital. Breakfast is included on this final day. As a fully private tour, the itinerary can be customized to your needs and onward travel from Rabat.

The best tour guide you'll find!
I don't normally give reviews let alone 5 star ones but Hassan and his team have gone so far above my expectations from a tour company I thought they more then deserved it. As a Solo traveler I was or course concerned about safety. So what made me go with them? Morocco amazing destinations was responsive on the phone transparent and fair with their prices, but it was more than that. They gave me traveling tips and we're always a phone call away if I had a question or needed a place to stay. Unfortunately the first few days of my trip I was sick I wasn't feeling well enough to start the tour when I communicated this to the company their primary concern was me feeling better and enjoying my trip and they didn't even ask for a compensation fee even though they had driven all the way out there. I was really touched by this and called them a couple days later to continue the tour. The tour guide takes you in like one of his family showing you his home his community and tradition. Something I can say as an American we don't really have an abundance. The openness of the people to share what they have connect to you and how they live with one another was really an experience for me. If any of what I'm saying speaks to you book your tour with them and no further for a good experience in Morocco.

How is the desert night organized and what luggage should we bring?
Large luggage stays in the vehicle. You only need a small overnight bag for the camp. The private tent has a private bathroom, comfortable bedding, dinner and breakfast included, plus Berber music around the fire.
